How an idea earns investment

Performance, commercial viability and timing: the three questions we ask before developing a format.

Sustainium · Company perspective

An idea has to solve a real problem. It must perform the way end users expect, at a price that makes the switch realistic, and arrive when the market needs it.

Useful ideas come from practical places: an inefficiency that can be improved, a specific request from a customer, or a change in requirements that calls for a new solution.

We start by listening. Customers understand the operational problem they need solved. Our role is to translate that requirement into a technically and commercially viable format.

A sample is a useful next step. It gives the customer something to hold, compare and assess against the product it would replace.

Getting a format right also means planning how it will be supplied. What we promise the customer has to line up with what our suppliers promise us. Reliability is part of what a customer buys.
